2015 Holiday Parade & Christmas Tree Lighting!

(November 16, 2015) - Begin your holiday season in Downtown Youngstown! On Friday, December 4th the festivities begin on the Central Square and 20 Federal Place at 4:30 PM, followed by the parade at 5:30 PM, and Santa's arrival at 6:30 PM. Click the following for more information:

Zoning Dept. Has Relocated

(October 7, 2015) - Effective immediately, the City Zoning Department has relocated to the office of Community Planning and Economic Development. All Zoning permits are now issued at the new location: 20 W. Federal Street, Suite 602 (20 Federal Place Building).

JJC Co-Ed Intramural Sports League for Grades 4, 5 and 6

(August 21, 2015) – Youngstown Department of Parks & Recreation is partnering with C.I.R.V. and Mahoning County Juvenile Court to provide a year round sports program for Mahoning County children in Grades 4, 5 and 6. These programs offer healthier choices focusing on positive social activity while emphasizing good behavior and sportsmanship. Click here for more information about the 2015-2016 program.

Youngstown Awarded State Innovation Grant

(June 5, 2015) - The Ohio Development Services Agency has awarded a $50,000 Local Government Innovation Program grant to the City of Youngstown to help create a Youngstown-Mahoning Valley Manufacturing Training Center. News Release

Mayor's Weekly Spotlight

City Sanitation Fee Homestead Exemption

Applications are now available in the Mayor’s Office and on the City of Youngstown’s website for those wishing to apply for a Homestead Exemption to their City of Youngstown Sanitation fee. Residents must be at least 65 years old, have a total income that does not exceed $30,500.00, and own or lease the property they are occupying in order to apply for the Homestead Exemption. This Exemption will apply a 20% discount to the resident’s monthly sanitation fee.
