Seventh Ward Council Member John R. Swierz is returning to City Council after serving six and a half years as 7th Ward Council Member from 1996 through April 2002. He was also President of City Council from 2002 through 2003. Council Member Swierz has been a resident of the Seventh Ward for 37 years. He retired from the Youngstown Fire Department in 1995 after serving for 25 years.
He currently chairs the Off Street Parking Committee and is a member of the Education and Safety Committees.
As the Seventh Ward Council Member, he is committed to responding to constituents concerns, working on ward issues and working with Council and the Administration on City wide issues.
