Graffiti Bomb! "Faces of 2010"

Graffiti Bomb! “Faces of 2010” was conceived by Jack Carlton, an artist and teacher in the art departments of Youngstown State University and Hiram College. He and a small team invited the general public – whose ages ranged from three to eighty-three – to draw a face and/or their own Youngstown 2010 logo at two community events in 2004. First Night Youngstown (a new years’ eve celebration) and Summer Festival of the Arts welcomed thousands of people to showcase their artistic ability and create awareness for the Youngstown 2010 planning process. Amazingly upon completion (and completely unplanned), there were exactly 2,010 faces that were created. The artwork squares were then placed into collages on wooden panels, lacquered, and hung. The thirty-two FACES OF 2010 collages are on permanent display in public spaces throughout the community. See the e-gallery below for the various locations.
