Council Member Profile

Mike Ray was appointed to the Fourth Ward City Council seat in 2010.

A native of the West Side, Mike went to St. Brendan's School and graduated from Chaney High School. From there, he went to Youngstown State University, where he was actively involved in campus life. He was Pete the Penguin, helped revive a dormant fraternity chapter, and was active in student government.

After graduating, Mike traveled throughout the country in his job as director of chapter development for Sigma Tau Gamma. He also has experience running a small business and currently works for United Science Testing as a marketing and customer service coordinator. He remains active in YSU and fraternity alumni events, serves as a trustee for the J. Ford Crandall Foundation, and is a trustee and scholarship dinner chairman for the Danielle Marie Hodge Scholarship fund, which recognizes deserving students from the Mahoning Valley who are going to YSU.
